Who cares even if Chee walk round the world for Singaporeans. Singaporeans have don't care for the freedom or so-called Democracy he is fighting for. They have already forgotten what it is after 4 decades of obeying PAP rule. The PAP can do anyting to Singaporeans, pay themselves millions, work Singaporeans to death. Nothing can stop the PAP now, they basically own this country.
Those who want a better life the only choice is to leave. MM Lee said 80% of Singaporeans cannot leave and so have to remain under the mercy of the PAP govt.
Chee cannot fight and win. Because he attempt is view as a futile attempt. Singaporeans who cannot tolerate the PAP want to concentrate on leaving because there is no chance for a positive change in Singapore. Zero. Chee is but offering Singaporeans a false hope. That is why many won't support him or his kind of politics. There will never be true democracy in Singapore and there will never be true freedom. Singaporeans will be reduced to serfs to be exploited by the PAP system. It is the fault of the people of Singapore that they have no will to stand up, no will to make a positive change. They are only waiting to die or leave. At least in death they will be freed from this system.

I am not as pessimitic, WP shows there is still room for opposition, but SDP under Chee has declined to its current negligible state

UltimateApathy resounding comments on apathetic Singaporeans are precisely the right portrayal of blinded serfs and peasants who are shackled, bound and mute. He has channeled his energy in this aspect rather well. But when people are totally apathetic then none is needed as much of murmur from their apathetic minds. It is no wonder that Martin Luther King once said:
'Our lives begin to end the day we became silent on the things that matter.'
All repressed societies in the past have expressed hopelessness. But history has always revealed that totalitarianity always end. You cannot live forever. No governments have lasted the test of time.
Have faith. Democracy never works in the place. It is YOU who make it work.
