Association of Bloggers (Singapore) was submitted for registration in December 2008 by a team of like minded bloggers whose vision and purpose is to strengthen and unify blogger relations in the local blogosphere.
Our mission is to -
To promote and support the positive development of the blogging scene in Singapore, as a distinct form of media; with all the rights and responsibilities that entails, to every citizen.
To promote professionalism in blogging among members.
To promote its members by advancing the grassroots media movement generally through activities and events organized.
Fostering a positive identity with creditability.
Educating its Members through mutual support and robust internal discussion, by partnering with organizations dedicated to education in the area of technology, methods and standard otherwise, creating educational opportunities for the association and its Members.
To provide for the interchange and advance of knowledge in the field of blogging.
To promote social interaction and cohesion among Members.
I am sceptical to say the least. Who are these people?
Why do I have to be professional - is that 'professional' in the Straits Times way?
Rights and responsibilities, haven't I heard this rhetoric somewhere else.
Why does an association think it is somehow connected to the grass-roots. Grass-roots of what? The local HDB committee or bloggers.
Thanks for telling me that I lack credibility. In whose eyes?
So you are going to fund research in order to advance knowledge in the field of blogging - where can I send my application form for a grant.
Social interaction and cohesion, why not conflict and dissent?

isn't diversity rather than conformity that makes the blogsphere a real ecosystem. I don't any blogger really want to join any association. I think it is a stupid idea. no blogger is seriously looking to be a professional or credible. The content is out there for people to evaluate. We can't grow if we don't think.

I am Lenin from manipur india. we have a mission called Global recycle mission under this mission we want to help the poor, orphan by establishing homes for them, widows by helping them, bringing thier souls to the Lord, to eradicate poverties, establishing peace within the communities and families, establishing small industries to support the poor people. to provide basic education to the poor children etc. These are our aims to reach the people with gospel, binding them with Jesus love and care. Nowadays the economic stimulus package was fraught with too much controversy. It is said to be that the cost for the economic stimulus package just passed was about $787 billion. While, few months ago, the plan that (TARP) was just a few billion less. These cash advance loans, as well short-term payday cash or short-term loans which have never been seen before, were intended to do things like stem unemployment. White House officials are predicting that it will start to do some progressive just before we know it. The prediction is that the stimulus will save about 3.5 million jobs, but since that many have been lost, it seems foolhardy to barely break even on the $787 billion installment loans of the economic stimulus package. The projection regarding number of jobs saved or created applies through the end of 2010. So don’t go out and get cash advance loans thinking you’ll get another job before it’s time to pay it back. This is going to take a while. The report says that 1.5 million jobs will be created or saved by the end of this year. Still, let’s keep in mind to save more and spend less.
